Austin Leads Nation in Job Growth

The Austin metropolitan area added 11,400 jobs, or 1.5% in the 12 months ending in February according to Friday’s release of preliminary payroll jobs numbers by the Texas Workforce Commission and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Similar to what we saw with last month’s data, this is somewhat more moderate year-over-year growth rate than had been seen in previous months. And like last month, we see another slip in Austin’s standing—now at 15th—based on year-over-year job growth among large U.S. metros.
